The whale
# 26

Welcome to issue #26,

I learned a few days ago that my employment contract was going to end in September. I had been working with the same client for 6 years and learning this news disturbed me a little. Leaving my office and my colleagues makes me a little sad and going back to the unknown is scary, I must admit.

I have a lot of questions. Do I need to be trained in new technologies, new languages? If so, which ones? Do I have to register for a bootcamp or take a paid online course? I learned the code alone (I am a Biologist by training) and I know that I must have gaps in some areas.

Do I have to look for a long assignment as a web consultant or make websites for clients with my favorite CMS Kirby?

Maybe it's time to try to monetize The Whale even if the community is not yet very developed? I don't have the answers yet, but time is passing quickly and I'm going to have to decide as soon as possible, that's the way life is ...
